Expert has a specialty in post traumatic stress disorder in children and adults, specifically in sex abuse. Expert has written books on this topic and have testified in numerous cases throughout the country. She have trained law enforcement and social services workers in the identification, assessment and treatment of traumatized children.

Expert has trained doctoral students and has taught in the areas of play therapy, trauma and the neurobiology of trauma. Expert has conducted numerous evaluations on adults and children suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. Expert has appeared on national television and radio and has been cited in numerous magazines from Time to Parents discussing trauma, sexual abuse, and the treatment of post traumatic stress disorder. She has lectured at the American College of Forensic Psychology, and her book is used in several colleges throughout the country as a resource in identifying sexual predators.
