DISASTER RECOVERY; DISASTER PLANNING; DISASTER PREVENTION; CATASTROPHIC FAILURE. Expert has been a nationally known expert in disaster planning and recovery since the mid '80s. His articles have appeared in several magazines. Since 1991, he has been the Editor-in-Chief of a sourcebook of over 3000 disaster-recovery vendors, divided into over 250 different categories ranging from trauma counselors to the drying-out of wet microfilm. Over the years, he has prepared comprehensive disaster recovery plans for over 100 organizations. Many of these plans had to be subsequently submitted to industry regulators in banking and insurance - all of which were approved by the relevant regulatory bodies. During this time, Expert has especially emphasized that disaster plans need not be expensive in order to be effective.
BUSINESS RECOVERY PLANNING; CONTINGENCY PLANNING; BUSINESS RE-ENGINEERING. With an educational background in systems and organizations, and with experience as a consultant for IBM, Touche Ross & Co., and The Systems Audit Group, Expert has frequently worked with companies whose systems were malfunctioning. Often these problems were symptoms of the management or structure of the organizations, and were corrected via modifications to management style and/or structure, or re-engineering of the organization.

As such, he has frequently performed systems reviews and audits under extremely tight constraints of time and funding. This has been possible due to his wide experience in many types of computing operations, ranging from "white collar" banking, education, and insurance to "blue collar" manufacturing and industrial. Expert has provided clients with EDP auditing, software selection, and systems integration support. Additionally, he is experienced and is published in the area of computer disaster recovery.
