Expert Evans is a registered and chartered architect with unusually wide and diverse experience gained during over three decades of architectural practice. In addition to core architectural skills, Expert has developed related expertise in the roles of: construction defects consultant, project-manager, development-controller, technical-auditor, planning-supervisor, party-wall-surveyor, building-surveyor, expert-witness, lecturer and author.

Prior to taking up his present position he worked with leading practices and as principal in his own practice. He has experience of traditional and computer based drawing office procedures, being involved in the introduction of computer aided design systems to three practices and in the implementation of quality control procedures.
He has headed multi-disciplinary teams involved in a wide range of projects, for clients in the private and public sectors. This has included all aspects of development work from inception to hand over of the completed construction covering variously: feasibility studies; negotiating: development agreements, funding and permissions; drafting contracts and managing design and construction. He has also been engaged in the renovation of historic buildings and work in conservation areas involving detailed negotiations for listed building and planning consents.
He is responsible for the development of forensic architecture and construction technology services combining architectural and engineering practice with specialist services in building technology. The work extends to various parts of Europe and Africa. In this role he has directed over 200 technical and forensic investigations gaining a reputation for giving authoritative, reliable advice and the preparation of dependable, compelling evidence.

A related aspect of this work is to assist in the preparation of construction projects and to audit and monitor work during design and construction. Here, familiarity with the predominant causes of failure and dispute is applied to ensuring best practice where it most matters and to lessening the risk of failure by identifying errors as they arise and acting before they become major problems.

Practice Areas include:
Full architectural, engineering and building surveying services from project management and planning to detailed design and contract administration. In addition Expert has formed technical and forensic teams to research and assess compliance with regulations, standards and contracts and to investigate the performance of building components for which he has developed non-invasive and laboratory techniques and procedures. This has been done both in litigation support and to assist building owners and project teams solve problems, correct faults and resolve disputes. The examination of the causes of building failure and design audits to reduce the likelihood of failure in proposed construction, including the computer analysis of the performance of buildings and the identification in advance of risk.
The restoration of historic structures.
Providing guidance and training on construction regulations and standards.
Expert is responsible for the development of construction technology services combining architectural and engineering practice with specialist services in building technology with work extending to various parts of Europe and Africa. In this role he has directed over 300 technical and forensic investigations, the preparation of expert evidence in connection with approaching 200 cases and has personally prepared and presented evidence in connection with over 80 disputes all of which were successfully settled in his clients' favor.


Over cladding to existing tower blocks: Expert devised and implimented the investigation of deterioration of over cladding and reporting on cause and responsibilities therefore. Expert then submitted reports to negotiate local government agreement to the remedies he devised and to obtain insurance payments for the costs involved.New build residential development: Expert investigated and reported on behalf of insurers to help establish liability, in respect of a personal injury claim associated with work practice and scaffold design during construction.Broadgate: Expert advised on the cause of and responsibility for the failure of bespoke illuminated pavings.Renovation of street of Georgian and Victorian terraced dwellings: Expert investigated and reported on performance of project team and advising on recoverability of overspend and on the quality of the work.City Centre warehouse building converted into multi-occupancy residential use: Expert organised and lead a team in the study of deficiencies in acoustic separation and fire compartmentation, the design and implementation of a remedial scheme and preparation of expert evidence for arbitration and mediation on behalf of building owner and employer under the building contract.
