He has conducted a seminar on pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry management. The topics covered include organization and industry structure, regulation and cost reimbursement, new technology and its impact on the industry, intellectual property, pharmaceutical manufacturing, research and development, marketing of drugs, and finance.
BIOPOLYMERS. Expert's expertise includes establishing principles of biopolymer engineering for the design of new materials to control structure function relationships. He has developed patented materials for the control and production of novel biopolymers, polyester biopolymers, and amino acid fermentations.
MAMMALIAN CELL CULTURE. Expert is knowledgeable of the role of the extracellular environment on the performance of mammalian cells.
APPLIED MOLECULAR BIOLOGY. Expert has utilized advancements in genetics and molecular biology to produce fine chemicals, biopolymers, and proteins. He is knowledgeable of gene organization, regulation, and expression using Corynebacterium glutamicum. In his studies, he has used advanced genetic and rDNA technology approaches.
He is familiar with molecular and engineering aspects of biotechnology. He has applied biological and bioengineering principles for use of animal cells and bacteria for production of recombinant protein products. He has experience in post-translational processing and secretion of proteins, gene cloning and expression in mammalian cells, physiology of cell growth and in vitro cultivation, bioreactor design, protein recovery and purification, site-specific mutation of proteins, and transgenic animals and plants.
METABOLIC ENGINEERING. Expert is experienced in the design of pathways for the production of metabolites such as amino acids, nucleotides, and biopolymers.
