He was a research assistant with the U.S. Bureau of Minings working with coal mine roof control using LANDSAT satellite imagery, then with U.S. Deptartment of Labor, Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) for 28 years as a coal mine inspector in Virginia and continued LANDSAT imagery analysis. He also has a company that performs expert witness and consulting for law firms in West Virginia and a coal company in West Virginia. To date, he has been able to help win coal mine accident cases without going to court trial. He is a coal miner trainer certified by Kentucky (surface), Virginia (surface and underground), and West Virginia (surface and underground). He offers services in underground coal miner safety analysis, coal mine roof control and assist mine operators with compliance with MSHA Code 30 CFR and State mine inspection regulations.

He as reviewed and revised underground coal mine plans for Cobalt Coal Corp. Also, he assisted the same coal company prepare for a Federal (MSHA) inspection. He has given expert analysis of surface and underground coal mine accident lawsuite cases for four (4) Law Firms during 2009-2010.He has given coal miner training to Minova, USA engineers and to Spike Television crew. Has also given advanced underground mine Roof Control training to Knox Creek Coal Corporation.
