Expert in DFM, Smart Materials and Composites
COMPOSITE MATERIAL. Expert has expertise in the DFM skills for polymeric materials. Using his modeling, simulations, and synthesis experience, he has taught workshops and teaches graduate level classes. He also understands vibrational response, modeling damping, hygrothermal behavior, and other related fields.
DESIGN ENGINEERING. Expert has published a book on design creativity. He has experience in problem defining, synthesis, evaluation, modeling, and analysis.
ELECTRORHEOLOGICAL FLUID. Expert has synthesized hydrous and anhydrous fluids. He has characterized the non-Newtonian behavior of these colloidal suspensions and used them in automotive and other smart materials applications.
FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS. Expert has taught graduate classes and workshops on this subject. He has done pioneering research on vibration analysis, variational formulations for this type of numerical technique (pertaining to composite materials), robots, machinery, and acoustics.
HIGH-SPEED MECHANISM DESIGN. He has designed high-speed mechanisms that mandate sophisticated elastodynamic analysis and is considered a pioneer in the field of composite materials and numerical integration skill. His experience is in the context of finite element models.
LINKAGE; RIGID-BODY DYNAMICS. Expert has extensive experience in the analysis and synthesis of rigid-body linkages, as well as high-speed mechanisms.
MACHINE DESIGN. He has extensive experience in traditional and nontraditional design protocols pertaining to machine elements, including contact stresses, fatigue deformations, and others.
PIEZOELECTRIC POLYMER. Expert understands the utilization of these functional materials for the synthesis of smart materials for actuation and sensing purposes.
PRODUCT DESIGN FOR MANUFACTURABILITY. Expert has written a book on this subject in the context of both metals and composites. He teaches graduate and undergraduate classes on this discipline.
