Since receiving his A.B. and Ph.D. degrees in economics from Harvard University, Expert has worked for the U.S. Government as an economist with the Millennium Challenge Corporation and taught as an Assistant Professor at Harvard Business School. While at the U.S. Government, Expert performed economic analysis and cost-benefit analysis of foreign aid projects across the developing world, including extended work in Africa on cross-functional and cross-national teams. He helped to set up monitoring systems as well as design program evaluations. As a Professor, Expert teaches Harvard MBA students about macroeconomics, international economics, politics, and emerging markets. He has written numerous Harvard Business School case studies, published many articles in top economics journals like the Journal of Political Economy as well as accessible publications including Forbes and the New York Times, and has spoken in front of academic and business audiences around the world. He has served as an expert to a major consultancy, private-equity investor, and an international organization. Expert is on leave in 2009-10 to focus on consulting as well as to advise the Government of Liberia on economic development.
