Expert has a Ph. D. in Chemical Engineering. He has 20 years of experience in chemical process design and development, pilot plant operation and process economics. He has lead the development of processes involving green chemistry using seed oils as raw materials. He has laid out commercial plants and seen one through design, construction and start-up.

A large chemical company was having difficulty starting up an electrochemical process to make an agricultural chemical. After reviewing the current operation and history of the development, I concluded that the cell productivity was limited by mass transport, not electrode activity as had been assumed. Increasing the mass flow rate through the cells increased the productivity to the desired levels and was critical to successful plant start-up.
