- Galectin-3 is an inflammatory mediator of heart failure that has been recently proposed to reflect fibrogenesis and inflammation that can be used as a potential biomarker.

- The overall aim of our study is to evaluate the levels of galectin-3 in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) undergoing revascularization with PCI or CABG and subsequently prospectively examine the association of galectin-3 levels to adverse cardiovascular outcomes.
