Hydrology is a main component of hydraulic/hydrologic (H/H) computer modeling when analyzing drainage and sewer systems under storm or wet-weather conditions.

He has modeled large water distribution system models as part of developing comprehensive system wide master plans. Using the analysis of these models, he has developed capital improvement plans for various water utilities. These analyses required analyzing population projections and determining water demands to be applied throughout the system. System analysis includes scenarios such as peak day demands, extended period simulations, and fire flow analysis. He has experience with various water distribution models including H2ONet and WaterCAD.

He has extensive experience, all over the United States, in developing sewer system master plans. His expertise is in all aspects of collection system analysis including data management, hydraulic modeling, flow and rainfall analysis, GIS, pump station capacity analysis, gravity sewer pipe sizing, and CIP development. Over the past 15 years he has used several models and has completed dozens of master plans. Some of the models he is proficient in include EPA SWMM, XP-SWMM, InfoWorks, InfoSewer, H2OMap, SewerCAD, Hydra, and adICPR. Furthermore, he has developed software for sewer system modeling including SWMM CONNECT (GIS interface to EPA SWMM 5), and QP Manager (flow and rainfall data management and analysis software).

He has conducted several surface modeling studies in South Florida both as part of research and consulting projects. Within the surface water modeling, he is more specialized in urban stormsheds. He has applied various hydraulic/hydrologic models as part of these studies including EPA SWMM and XP-SWMM. He has also performed water quality analysis in addition to water quantity of surface water runoff. As part of these modeling studies he has modeled and analyzed pipes, pumps, canals, and culverts.
