Expert is a member of the US Technical Advisory Group to the ISO Technical Committee 207, which developed ISO 14001 and other international environmental management standards. He is an RAB-certified Lead EMS Auditor. He is experienced with establishing business environmental policies and practices and actively consults on the emerging ISO 14000 standards. He has implemented "best practices" to reduce waste emissions and has leveraged technology transfer and implementation at sites worldwide. Expert implemented a model global environmental plan for DuPont's 1.3 billion dollar Lycra(R) spandex business that reduced waste and emissions by 75%. The practices and technologies he identified met or exceeded all regulatory requirements and corporate objectives, with savings completely offsetting the costs. Expert routinely conducts ISO 14001 certification audits and he developed and teaches an EARA approved and ANSI/RAB NAP accredited ISO 14001 Advanced EMS Lead Auditor 5-day course. He has helped six companies establish ISO 14001 related businesses. He is a trained/experienced facilitator for CMA's Management Systems Verification Process.

Expert has been extremely active performing ISO 14001 certification audits and performed some of the first certifications in the US. As of March, 1999, Expert has developed or audited EMSs at over 45 companies during approximately 250 audit days. At Dupont, he built one of the first business-driven environmental management systems. Considered one of the most experienced EMS experts in the country, Expert's consulting activities include training, EMS development, and pre-certification audits for ISO 14001. He conducted some of the pilot ISO 14001 audits in the US to assist ANSI-RAB to establish the National Accreditation Program for ISO 14001 certification. Expert has led several national conferences on ISO 14000 and teaches an ISO 14000 course he developed for the University of Delaware. Additionally, he helped write the ISO 14001 standard (US TAG to TC 207) prior to its issue in September, 1996.

Faced with a need to double capacity while reducing waste by 50%, Expert led a waste minimization effort to identify routes for achieving these goals. Involving nine global sites, the project's environmental objectives were integrated into the business plan to ensure implementation and continued improvements. Leveraging worldwide knowledge and resources, Expert also led a global cross-functional team of technology managers in an effort to significantly improve first pass yields, quality, and productivity. He also established a performance tracking system that delivers continued improvement.

Expert is an expert at analyzing businesses, defining specific improvement opportunities and implementing them through a team effort. He conducted a complete analysis of DuPont's spandex business to find opportunities for better business practices and then led a project that resulted in a $20 million reduction in materials costs, a $7 million reduction in inventories, and a 30% reduction in function costs. Expert is also an experienced ISO 9000 auditor with implementation experience in ISO 9001 and Total Quality Management (TQM). As a lead auditor for both ISO 9001 and 14001, he is skilled at leveraging existing resources for effective combined systems.

Training/Seminars Expert has developed specialized EMS training programs for over 60 organizations. He has trained organizations in 28 major U.S. cities on ISO 14001 certification and helped company personnel at all levels develop combined business and environmental strategies.
