Expert received his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Astronautical) from Arizona State University in 1969. He next attended Central Missouri State University where he graduated in 1974 with a Master of Science degree with a field of specialization in Safety. Expert obtained his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering (Human Factors/Ergonomics) from Texas Tech University in 1983.

Expert has held many progressively responsible positions in the United States Air Force, industry and academics. He founded his company in 1981 with the intention of using his diverse knowledge of human factors, ergonomics and safety engineering to proactively improve the human experience in our manufactured environment.

Expert has served as an expert witness in hundreds of litigated matters since he founded his company. His unique educational and experiential background, combined with his meticulous attention to detail provide his attorney clients with exceptionally high quality reports, qualified expert testimony and effective technical case management.

Expert is the author of several technical papers spanning a variety of fields and he has published a book that provides the innkeeping industry with a single source for information on identifying, evaluating and controlling hazards typical to the business of operating a hotel or motel. His next book will be available in the near future and will be an authoritative treatise on the causes of and preventions for pedestrian falling incidents.

Expert has made many professional presentations, sharing his knowledge of human factors, ergonomics and safety with diverse audiences nationwide.

Expert keeps his knowledge current by teaching a variety of advanced courses in the college of engineering at the University of Arizona.

While with the 3M Co, he served as an internal consultant. He provided information, training, audits, for numerous manufacturing operations throughout the United States, for product and facility designers at the plant and corporate levels, for corporate laboratories, and for plant and corporate management. The areas of expertise included safety (plant, workplace, machine, chemical process, fire prevention, explosion, fire fighting, facility design, emergency preparedness, product design, maintenance, etc.) and human factors/ergonomics, as well as basic industrial hygiene and toxicology.He assisted the Hammersley Mining Company improve the integration of human factors/ergonomics and systems safety expertise into its business process, operations, and improvement projects.He assisted the Durodyne Corporation product design team with the design, manufacture, and testing of prototype F-15 and F-16 decoys as well as their packaging, assembly, and disassembly under a variety of combat condition.He assisted the Norwest Mortage Company with the design and implementation of a nationwide computerized mortgage banking information gathering, organization, and retrieval system. He assisted the Norwest Mortage Company design and implement a 33% reduction in force program.
