Expert is an internationally recognized cardiologist, inventor, educator, and author. A diplomate of the American Board of Cardiovascular Diseases and the American Board of Interventional Cardiovascular Diseases, Expert is one of the early pioneers of angioplasty and is considered one of America’s top cardiologists.

Expert has been retained as an expert witness for 32 cases, and has participated in more than 100 research studies. He has published over 600 medical articles, including 4 dozen textbook chapters, and has edited six textbooks in cardiovascular care. He has served as a principal investigator to research the safety and/or effectiveness of more than 100 medical devices and 50 pharmaceutical products, and he holds more than 30 patents granted for different catheters, stents and other medical devices, as well as numerous pending patents.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
• Credited with performing and describing the treatment of angioplasty for shock in patients who present with a heart attack
• Developed the first catheter treatment for leakage of the mitral valve
• Co-developed with an engineer, hydrophilic or “water loving” wire is utilized in approximately 20% in all angioplasty procedures performed worldwide
• The covered stent that Expert co-invented is currently used in every catheter lab worldwide that performs angioplasty and stenting
• Nine products developed by Expert are currently on the market
