Expert has over 30 years of experience in shielding design, activation calculations, radiation measurements and radiation safety of medical, industrial and research facilities. She also performs Monte Carlo calculations, and activation calculations. She has successfully executed numerous shielding designs both nationally and internationally. Her “one-stop shielding design" services ensure my participation in all phases of the project: schematic design, design development, construction documentation and inspection; and shielding integrity radiation surveys. She is an expert in electron, photon, neutron and proton shielding. She was a consultant on NCRP Report No. 151, “Structural Shielding Design and Evaluation for Megavoltage X- and Gamma Ray Radiotherapy Facilities. She was the Task Group Chair for the Particle Therapy Cooperative Group (PTCOG) Report 1: Shielding and Radiation Safety for Charged Particle Therapy Facilities. She has written chapters on shielding in the books “Proton Therapy Physics” and “Principles and Practice of Proton Beam Therapy”. She has given talks and taught shielding courses at AAPM summer schools, HPS Meetings, PTCOG Educational Workshops and various other national and international conferences.

She is very experienced at working with architects, contractors and project managers. She insists that architectural drawings are correct, and reviews and signs off on relevant construction documents and submittals. She isvery responsive and provide a quick turnaround time on projects. She provides a comprehensive physicist's report for submission to the state or other relevant regulatory agency. Her early involvement guarantees the implementation of cost effective shielding solutions, and a facility constructed per design. Her careful attention to detail eliminates costly mistakes and retrofits. In addition to her strong communication, foresight, and facilitation skills, her availability to interact with the architect, contractor and regulatory agency relieves the client of additional responsibility during the various stages of the project.
She has also served as an expert witness in the following cases:
Expert Witness for Defense, Reita Miller vs. RPC Industries; Civil Action No. 2-00CV02 (Oct-Nov 2000). Wrote report.
Expert Witness for Defense, RADAR Class Action Suit (November 2004- April 2005). Wrote report. Report cited in Judge’s Order to dismiss class action suit.
Expert Witness for Defense, RADAR Individual Suits (January 2008 – October 2008). Wrote report and was deposed.
Expert witness for Defense, Kenneth Blum, et al. v. General Electric Co., et al. (September 2009 –November 2009). Wrote report and was deposed.
