Expert is a recognized authority in the field of knowledge management. He has created successful knowledge-management solutions for Fortune 500 companies in a wide range of industries. His areas of expertise include knowledge management strategy development, design and implementation of capture and deliver systems, and content management. He has led numerous projects that have defined and prioritized clients' knowledge management needs and worked to overcome cultural and behavioral impediments to knowledge sharing. Expert has specialized know-how related to capturing and structuring an organization's intellectual capital. He has also worked with clients to build high-impact networks of internal experts.

Expert's content-management expertise centers on the development of processes that integrate relevant information and knowledge with critical decision making. He has extensive experience in designing usage- and value-promoting content architectures for corporate intranet systems.

Although his primary focus is knowledge management, Expert has also consulted broadly on general management issues to solve organizational and strategic problems. He has worked with clients in the chemical, pharmaceutical, transportation, telecommunications, insurance, semiconductor, beverage, medical devices, market research, financial, management consulting, and software industries.

Expert consulted with a major property casualty insurer. He developed and implemented a method for defining and capturing the decision-making process and tacit knowledge of the organization's underwriters. The resulting decision model was subsequently used to structure content for a decision-support system that pushes relevant information, expertise, cases, and analytical tools to the underwriting specialists as they are working on submissions. The system allows the insurer to monitor, measure, and improve the quality and consistency of critical decision making. This initiative also entailed identifying, evaluating, and acquiring sources of information and expertise for use by the underwriters.
Expert's experiences include consulting to a financial company. For this client, Expert developed the overall design and content architecture for an intranet to serve the organization's staff and quality groups. He conducted a discovery process to identify the key system applications for the targeted constituencies based on their performance requirements. He developed a process for managing and maintaining the content flowing through the intranet, measuring the impact of its application, and continuously improving its use.
He has conducted telecommunications consulting. Expert designed and developed an intranet repository that provides the organization with highly filtered, need-relevant external information. The system's content includes patents, business and marketing intelligence, sophisticated pointers to internal and external experts, and technical articles from more than 25 sources. It employs both human and automated filters. The filtering process has been demonstrated to be more effective than any off-the-shelf solution. The project included determination of content needs, and the identification and negotiated acquisition of required content sources. It also involved continuous operation of the filtering process, linking the content to topics in the system, maintaining component databases and measuring and improving content value.
He has cosulted with a semiconductor supplier. Expert developed a comprehensive strategy that joined and coordinated a myriad of small, discrete knowledge-management initiatives across the organization. The consulting effort focused on the cultural and behavioral aspects of the client environment and on related opportunities for enhancement of knowledge-management processes. The implementation of the strategy produced measurable improvement in the utilization of existing knowledge-management tools and procedures.
Expert has consulted with a Bio-Technology/Ag-Chemical Company. He transitioned the client from a functional orientation to a team-based environment. He worked with several teams to develop a product-development process that explicitly defined key decisions and identified the information and knowledge that could be leveraged to raise the quality and consistency of decision making. The resulting knowledge-management process was fully integrated into the team practice.
