Responsibilities:(1) “Physicochemical characterization of OTC and cosmetic dermatological formulations” (GlaxoSmithKline Inc.) Designed and conducted experiments to identify the stability behavior, rheological properties, crystallization phenomenon and microstructure of OTC and cosmetic creams, lotions and ointments. Developed advanced rheological, microscopy and thermal techniques for the characterization of cosmetic formulations. (2) “Prevention of plug formation during flow behavior of wax-containing emulsions” (Chevron Corporation) Determined the conditions for formation of flowable wax-stabilized emulsions. A unique laboratory scale benchtop flowloop system was developed to explore the flow and deposition behavior of model W/O emulsions stabilized by paraffin wax and surfactant with the support of Labview computer software to reduce the unwanted deposition of wax from crude oil extracted and processed in cold environments.
