Expert has been in real estate lending and mortgage banking for over 38 years. After graduating with a Finance and Real Estate degree he completed two extensive, six-month management training programs with two major S&L's in the early '70s. These programs enabled him to learn through hands-on experience and mentoring how the industry worked. Each management program offered in-depth training in the various aspects of mortgage lending from appraisal to secondary marketing and everything in between. This experience proved invaluable for his position as Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer for the savings bank.

The wide spectrum of experience taught him to better understand each step in the process and made him a better manager in both production and operations. This production and operations experience is a rare combination today.

The mortgage lending industry has evolved dramatically over the past three decades and will surely continue adjusting to market needs, from both the demand and supply sides. Expert's long-term experience and a solid understanding of the fundamentals have afforded him the ability to better understand the changes and respond accordingly. He not only understands how but why new adjustments can affect the process from start to finish. The hands-on experience at the beginning of his career has been invaluable to his ability to break down complex situations into smaller, less complicated issues. This process allows a better understanding of what is--or isn't--relevant.

Expert has 38 yrs experience in retail and wholesale mortgage lending, with FDIC insured lenders and mortgage banking subsidiaries, and includes substantive involvement in essentially every aspect of residential financing, including the management of large, federally insured financial institutions with extensive portfolios. Expertise includes underwriting, assessment, fraud, portfolio standards, prime and sub-prime, and standards of care for institutional lenders, brokers, and bankers. He has extensive deposition, arbitration, bench, and jury trial experience.
