Expert has applied his nanotechnology background to synthesis metallic nanoparticles. He has used wet chemical methods, developed new technology to synthesize monodispersed gold nanoparticles for optical and bioanalytical applications. This technology is patented and licensed in certain field. He has also synthesized Pt-based nanostructure materials which were assembled on catalyst support and characterized by electrochemical methods. The nanocatalysts were found to be 4 - 5 times more active than commercial platinum. The use of these catalysts will lead to low cost in development of hydrogen and methanol based fuel cells.
