Expert has been a practicing pediatrician for 30 years in both a multispecialty group practice, where he was medical director for over 80 providers and
directed risk management, credentialing, recruiting, E&M compliance, and other efforts for the group and its 600 employees. During his years at this clinic he earned a
master of science degree in medical management as well.

He also was elected president of a national physician organization for the nation's 3rd largest for-profit hospital company and served on their corporate
board of directors in that capacity. In 2006 he was recruited by that same company to become its Chief Medical Information Officer where he was charged
with assuring physician acceptance a new clinical information system for the company's 53 hospitals in 17 states. When that company was acquired by
another hospital group he joined a pediatric urgent care practice in a major metropolitan area. He also is currently involved with two telemedicine companies as a
pediatric consultant.

He is board certified in pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Has has been engaged by health care sector analysts from Wall Street brokerage and investment banking firms to consult on hospital-physician relations in general and specifically regarding the acquisition of a hospital company and the effects of that merger on physician relations going forward.He has been consulted by sector analysts from a couple of investment banking firms and hedge funds regarding the launch of a new drug with which he had experience in its clinical trials.He has been involved with pharmaceutical companies in their marketing strategy to physicians and consumers for various products and medications.

Expert Witness Experience
During his time as medical director of a large multispecialty medical practice he was the organization's liaison with the medical malpractice company and their defense attorneys. In that capacity he assisted his partners with risk management activities as well as shepherding physicians through the process of dealing with possible litigation over alleged errors of commission or omission. He also worked with attorneys from two medical malpractice defense firms on multiple occasions where expert chart review and opinion was necessary in defense of physicians being sued.
Training / Seminars
He developed his clinic's HIPAA compliance program and delivered training presentations to his partners as part of risk management activities. He also was a formally-trained national speaker for Eli Lilly and Novartis and in that capacity made over 30 presentations regarding prescribing information to physician audiences in Texas and Oklahoma.
While CMIO for Triad he developed and presented multiple presentations for physicians and hospital executives and boards and worked with both Perot Systems and McKesson in developing the standardized physician interface and the training programs for physicians on the new clinical information system being deployed.
Vendor Selection
While in practice he served as chair of the group's electronic medical records committee and was in the process of developing an RFP for the three vendor finalists being considered by his practice. As CMIO for a major organization, he was involved in vendor demonstrations and selection for various software packages and hardware being considered by the individual hospitals and/or corporate staff.
Marketing Experience
He was deeply involved while in practice with hospital - physician relations efforts on both a local and corporate level. He was on the founding board of a major national board and hospital organization and became is president and in that capacity sat on the corporation's board of directors. He helped to establish local physician boards to enable input to the national organization and represented his medical staff on a national level for over seven years until recruited by the company to serve as its first CMIO.

He also worked with Eli Lilly in its national launch of a new drug for Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder as one of its national speakers, as well as with Novartis as a speaker for one of their pediatric products and with major Laboratories at a marketing conference as an expert panelist on infant formulas.

He also had experience prior to leaving practice as principle investigator on a new dermatologic product for treatment of head lice infestation.
