The expert’s qualifications for providing scientific consulting, and expert testimony at deposition and trial will capitalize on more than two plus decades of research experience in the fields of chemistry, polymer science, materials, and engineering. His experience covers both extensive knowledge of industrial practices, and in academia at the forefront of discovery. The expert is presently a Full Professor in the Department of Polymer Science and Engineering at the Employer, which has been ranked the #1 polymer program by the U.S. News & World Report, and second out of all materials science departments by the National Research Council. The expert has published over 125 peer reviewed manuscripts, written three book chapters, filed more than 50 US and international patents, and given more than 65 presentations in national conferences. He is an award-winning scientist, and a Fellow of the American Chemical Society. As a Professor of Polymer Science and Engineering at the University of Massachusetts, the expert keeps himself at the forefront of the fields of chemistry, polymer science, and materials. His laboratories are fully equipped with a suite of modern instruments for chemical and polymer synthesis, subsequent isolation, and full material structure/property analyses. The experts professional experience includes a Chemistry Ph. D. studies at the California Institute of Technology from 1988 to 1993; working at DuPont Central Research and Development Department from 1993 to 1999. The expert is one of the original inventors of DuPont’s VERSIPOL™ polyolefin technology platform. Since September of 1999 the expert has been on the faculty at the University of Massachusetts.

The expert has consulted as an expert witness on over two dozen pre-litigation and litigation cases in the past 20 year. He has prepared expert reports for these cases, written rebuttal reports supporting, or refuting infringement claims, and have opined on both validity and invalidity claims. The expert has supervised laboratory testing to support these opinions, to refute findings by adverse experts, and has been deposed under oath 6 times.

He has been an expert witness for litigation involving golf ball manufacturer and patent infringement regarding golf ball core formulations. He has been an expert witness for a case involving potential trade secret violations between industrial partners involved in tire manufacturing. His consulting services have been sought by several Fortune 500 chemical and materials manufacturing companies.
