ID: 730166 North Carolina, USA

Request Expert

As the manager of a physical testing laboratory for over 25 years, he has applied his physics and metallurgy background to develop expertise in powder metallurgy and mechanical property testing of metals, as well as in various forms of powder analysis, including particle size, surface area, and density measurement. Expert has developed numerous test methods and written standards to formalize those methods. He has been a member of ASTM International for over 30 years; Expert is intimately familiar with the complex production and revision processes for the promulgation of ASTM and ISO standards. He has been involved with powder metallurgy for over 30 years, particularly with respect to refractory metals and carbides, but also regarding ferrous and other base metals.

He spent over two years consulting as Standards Manager for OSRAM SYLVANIA (later Global Tungsten & Powders Corporation), handling standardization issues regarding refractory metals and their testing. He continues as an independent consultant in powder characterization, powder metallurgy, and mechanical testing of materials, and in related standardization issues.
