He is the medical director of critical care in a large community hospital with active cardiothoracic surgery, trauma and neurosurgery programs. They have 42 critical care beds. Their ICU is ranked in the top 10% nationwide and they are rated five stars for sepsis, pneumonia and COPD. (Healthgrades) He is involved in protocol development and has implemented or is in the process of implementing protocols for continuous renal replacement therapy, sepsis, tight glucose control, hypothermia, and respiratory therapist driven weaning protocols. He has an active interventional bronchoscopy practice that includes endobroncial ultrasound, stenting, argon plasma and electocautery and electromagnetic navigational bronchscopy. He also has an outpatient and inpatient pulmonary practice which involves the entire spectrum of pulmonary disease with the exception of pulmonary hypertension and transplant. He participates in the management of a 12 bed sleep lab and the care and diagnosis of sleep disorders.
