Expert has consulted widely in the area of rubbery materials, including compounding, processing, and physical-mechanical properties such as fatigue, cut growth, and aging. He has carried out research on rubber blends, particulate reinforcement, compatibilization, rubber tack, and rubber adhesion. He is also very familiar with testing procedures, including dynamic mechanical analysis.

RUBBERY ADHESIVES; ADHESIVE TESTING. Expert is an expert in the formulation of pressure sensitive and contact rubbery adhesives, and has a good understanding of the science basic to their performance. He has thorough knowledge about adhesive test procedures, especially peel testing, and analysis. He is particularly knowledgeable concerning viscoelastic effects and has taught numerous short courses involving adhesion science.

FRACTURE MECHANICS; ELASTOMERS; ELASTOMER ADHESION. Expert has a thorough understanding of fracture mechanics as applied to polymeric materials. He has carried out extensive research concerning factors that control the strength of polymers, especially elastomers. This has been a primary subject of his research.
