Expert has published numerous papers on surfactant and polymer adsorption at water-solid interfaces.

A great deal of his work involves characterization and properties of amorphous polymers, especially polystyrene and its various derivatives.

He earned B.S. and PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering.

He has expertise in colloidal polymers in solutions, e.g. latex particles as well as biodegradable nanoparticles for drug delivery.

He has published many papers on physical chemistry aspects of colloids and interfaces.

He worked one summer in the Composites Lab at Tinker, and has published papers on studies of curing kinetics as well as interface modification of fibers used in thermosetting composites. He has also studied thermoplastic composites extensively, in particular those involving carbon nanotubes.

He has characterized composites using electron and atomic force microscopy, rheology, calorimetry, various mechanical tests as well as small and wide-angle x-ray scattering.

He has published papers on a wide-variety of both thermoplastic and thermoset composites, and has written a book chapter on thermoplastic material selection.

He has used both static and dynamic contact angle to characterize the surface of solid materials.

He has studied heat conduction in differential scanning calorimetry extensively.

His expertise is solid-liquid interfacial tension measurements, and processes whether these types of surface interactions are important.

His expertise is solid-liquid interfacial tension measurements and has used a wide variety of instruments to characterize the surface energy of solids.

Because of his expertise in thermoplastic polymer composites, he knows a great deal about compounding of solid fillers in particular.

He has characterized composites using electron and atomic force microscopy, rheology, calorimetry, various mechanical tests as well as small and wide-angle x-ray scattering.

He has written a book chapter on thermoplastic material selection.

He has studied how heat transfer affects measured quantities for a polymer in a Differential Scanning Calorimeter and hence has a fundamental understanding of unsteady state heat transfer in polymers.

He has a fundamental understanding of how the various treatment process (e.g. plasma, flame) affect surface properties of polymers, especially with respect to adhesion. Primarily this expertise comes from his work on printing on plastics.

He consulted for a company that tested a new type of devulcanized rubber, and hence knows a great deal about rubber compounding.

He has taught classes on surface chemistry at the University, and has published many papers that deal with surface chemistry of polymers and mineral oxide surfaces.

One of his major research areas has been adsorption of surfactants at the solid-liquid interface. Further, he is the new Associate Director for the Institute for Applied Surfactant Research.

He has written a book chapter on thermoplastic material selection.

Because of his expertise in thermoplastic polymer composites, he knows a great deal about compounding of solid fillers in particular.

He consulted with a small company to evaluate a new process to devulcanize rubber. He consulted with a Fortune 500 company to evaluate new technologies available for a very particular type of hand-cleaner. He consulted with a small company to help evaluate various thermoplastic resins for powder coating.
