Marketing Experience
Well before he began studying architecture he was a trainee estimator for a firm of roofing subcontractors.
The company through which he was employed discoverd that he was able to produce technical drawings of the basis of their various quotations, and he was also able to calculate heat losses.
He was appointed as Consultant Architect to The Mastic Asphalt Council and Employers Federation in 1977.[MACEF].
For the first 6 months he studied a large number of reports previously written by past Consultant Architects to MACEF. This unique oportunity allowed him insight into the various problems associated with the application of mastic asphalt. He was on the technical committee of MACEF, and he was co-author of their famous black book on the subject.
He formed his own independant practice in 1978.
He was appointed as technical consultant to a window and curtain walling supplier and subcontractor and had in depth experience of the design, manufacture and erection of these elements.
He was appointed as Consultant architect to a public civil enginerring and building company on a multi-million £ project responsible for the design and construction of the cladding, roofing glazing and doorways.
Before he studied architecture he had studied building. He worked as assistant contracts director for a medium sized main contractor in London.
After he had formed his own practice he was appointed a Consultant.
