Expert has a proven track record as a professional taster and consultant for more than 300 coffee companies world wide. From 1992 until 1998 he successfully developed his own specialty coffee roasting company in The Netherlands.

Expert is an expert in all facets of coffee processing from the cherry to the green bean. His work concentrates on the two key parameters that will guarantee the best possible end-product: quality management throughout the production chain with a strong focus on the prevention of defects; and, sensory testing by using controlled cupping and tasting protocols.

Expert has extensive expertise in the manufacturing process from the green bean to the roasted, finished product. His knowledge includes strategic planning for coffee production facilities, selecting and purchasing advanced roasting systems, and procuring coffee packaging machinery. His work concentrates on two key parameters:
quality management throughout the production chain; and, sensory testing by using controlled cupping & tasting protocols.

Expert is a renowned professional coffee taster. He is a frequent (head) judge in international tasting events around the world. Expert helped to organize the legendary "Cup of Excellence" programs in Latin America, and, as a trainer, he worked with more than 500 (aspiring) coffee tasters around the world.

Expert was responsible for product development and for the design of various roast profiles for Johnson Brothers Coffee in Madison, Wisconsin. As a result, Johnson Brothers was successful in signing a 50,000 pounds per year contract with the University of Wisconsin.At "The Cup of Excellence" in Managua, Nicaragua, he was judge in this renowned event where the best lots of specialty coffee from Nicaragua were cupped during an intensive two-week coffee tasting program. Expert assisted with the startup of Caffe Pronto in Catonsville, Maryland. He was specifically involved in developing roast profiles and signature blends. Additionally, he assisted with the purchasing and cupping of various lots of specialty coffee.He was a lead consultant for the InterAmerican Development Bank (IADB) in Washington, D.C. He developed coffee industry strategies for governments in Central America. Expert was the head judge in the annual cupping competition at the Specialty Coffee Association of Panama (SCAP) to select Panama's best specialty coffees. During a three-day blind cupping event, a team of expert cuppers from companies like Peets, Starbucks, Caribou Coffee, Royal, Diedrich and The Coffee Review, tasted more than 32 coffee samples from producers of the regions Renacimiento, Volcan and Boquete.
